PARIS—Adult industry vet Judy Shalom has joined the Affil4You’s team of sales professionals.  

With the addition of Shalom, Affil4You believes the company's objectives of gaining significant momentum in new international territories can be realized.

Some may have noticed, Google has introduced a change to its algorithm 'OldPossum' (project code: Skip Redirect). Which basically means that Google is skipping redirect for Mobile Sites. If you have a mobile version of a web site and Google knows about it, Google will automatically by-pass any redirect you may have and send the mobile user to that version instead of passing them through a redirect.

This is to prevent the mobile user from a bunch of unnecessary and tedious redirect by sending him/her directly to the correct URL. It basically means that Google recognizes the existence of the dedicated URL for mobile.

This change introduced by Google strengthens our position in the mobile redirect market :

-      - It shows that Google is attentive (and more and more) to mobile and how this terminal is processed by publishers.

-       - It also shows that Google recognizes redirect mobile as a 100% legitimate solution (as an alternative to responsive design.  

This development offers the opportunity of having a differentiated ranking on mobile and web SERP. Those who treat their mobile traffic correctly can have a better mobile ranking than those who do not. That is a topic that we will follow closely.  

Consequently, it confirms the recommendations we made since our launch date: « Do not hesitate to make mobile redirect but do make sure to do it properly »:

-    - Redirect google crawler the same way that you redirect your end-user (Google has dedicated mobile bots...)

-      - If you are redirecting to a third-party, customize your redirect pages (redirect URL, title, description etc.)
